Can anyone tell me why the iTunes software updates are always massive yet I see little or no difference in the layout? The last update was very big and i honestly don't see any difference??

Unless someone has inside information or can find out from a verified source, all we can really do is speculate. :)

I speculate that the updates are 'combo updates'; that is, they include the whole of iTunes so no matter what version you're currently running it can be updated to the latest version. It also ensures continuity a little more (someone who installed the latest version of iTunes has the exact same software as someone who updated theirs).

Yes i take your point but surely that's what 'update' means rather than an entire replacement no other software companies adopt this kind of solution, namely MS office are purely small updates no entire re-installments is that makes sense??
