Good afternoon everyone :). Rain has stopped and next five days are good. Quiet weekend planned (how does one plan nothing!), to be fully fit for next weekend. July 4th. Holiday, barbie and booze. I'm hyperventilating already. That reminds me I must check to see if I've taken my tablets. Now if only they could come up with a memory pill.:D

    Refer back to post 1120.

Just realised that spared is an anagram of Spread

Quick! The holy water. Oh Jasus, The Old Goat has poured it on top of the ice and topped up his glass with Tonic Water. :o

looking foreward to the rain moving on,there are two local gala,s going on to-day over here, one in hambldon and one in fleetwood, there will be morris dancing, street parties, and floats, with bands, and competitions, all the local towns will be sending their elected queens, lots of vintage cars on view, should be a good day for all.last year there was even a float with a irsh folk band playing on it.

    Morning all.
Red wine hangovers are nasty. You don't think you have a hangover untill you move your head. :(

I always believe that if you have a red wine hangover, you're not drinking the right kind of red wine.....
I spoke with a wine producer recently who grows his own grapes and bottles his own wine- he said that some of the mass produced stuff labeled "oak aged" is simply mixed with oak shavings- not matured in a proper oak barrel

when watching morris dancers, men with beards and bells, but what worries me is that there is always one dressed up as a woman, thank god for the little children clog dancing, and the brass band competitions

I'll leave the finer points of wine ettiquete to Beruthiel, thats her forte. Me, I quaff stuff thats red and comes free with the pizza in the Sugar Club and I quaff it by the pint. :)

    Evenink my dears,
Getz, that sounds fab - I can almost hear it. Wish I was there!

Old soak Goat, how was the Pride parade? Doesn't seem to have been much on TV about it.

Hope the rest of ye are alright.

Next week is my first "full" week at work for a while. I'll probably be wall-fallin' - not used to such strenuous carry-on.

The parade was probably the best one ever. Great athmosphere and thousands turned out. Walked the length of the parade a couple of times bumping into old friends, making new friends, misplacing a daughter along the way. Awesome day.
Hats off to Michael Nancy Baron, Grandmaster of this years event, worthy of all the acolades he gets.

Very muggy, my eighteen hour girdle is too warm, best of luck with work this week alice, Cicero I drank your wine (bats eyelashes furiously)

Ahhhh Monday, once again you come around like an old friend...and sleep with my wife, put toast crumbs in the butter and drink bottle of beer from the fridge.
I'm of the opinion that Mondays should be incorporated into the weekend to help improve their reputation.

I got accused of being ageist this weekend and I realised they were right. I'd been putting down the 'Youth' as is my want when one of them took umbridge at my remarks. Stopped me in my tracks. I apologised and made recompense by buying her an icecream.
    Feckin' youth daughters.

    Morning all. :)

Thank you for all your kind wishes for work my dears. It is not too bad when I'm actually at work - tis the thinking about it... Must stop thinking.

P'rade sounds terrif OLd Goat. Must try to make it next year.

Delighted to learn that our local secondary school is doing a book rental scheme. Did I say that I am living on lettuce in order save money for the bloomin' school uniforms, books etc?

Very warm today - but kinda sticky. Yea, you should ditch the girdle for this kind of weather. Loose an' floaty is what you need.

Stop putting down the "youth of today" Old Goat - one day they may be choosing your retirement home.....

if you're lucky.... that or a one-way ticket to Switzerland :p

Glad work went well Alice....Sunday nights are always a worry.....I like OG's philosophy of making Mondays part of the weekend...really think it reduces the hype of it all...

ahem...this is Pomerol we're talking about here...usually batting eyelashes furiously will get me..but...it's Pomerol....OK...give me a critical analysis of the complexity of experience you felt drinking the bottle whilst treating the wine with total respect and I might forgive you.

eh.. well there was a fusion of flavours that burst on the palate from fruity undertones to velvety chocolate to a hint of apricots that lead to a final smooth finish as it worked it's way down to my belly, leaving a very warm and fuzzy feeling behind which became more intense the more i drank (funny that).:o
