Once met Shane McGowan in a residents bar in a hotel about 6 years ago, few of us got chatting to him, he went to the bar and returned with a round of Baileys, tbh I'm not sure if he bought them or whether they were drinks bought for him (he was on Baileys himself).

Btw robbing drinks on famous people does not count.

Oh yeah Pope John Paul II once had some pints with me, he was a funny bollix when he'd had a few :pac:

Frank McAvennie, ex Celtic and West Ham legend.

And the guys from Aslan bought me more than one drink over a few hours of a lock-in many moons ago. Christy wasn't there though.

I had a few with Shane and the band over a three day period back in 2000 when they were in Chicago. Some very cool guys in 'The Popes' at the time as well as the man behind the scene 'Mickey Gobs'.

I spent one Sunday boozing with Shay Given the year before last, myself, the girl I was with, Shay and his two friends were in rounds for the day, no airs and graces about that man, a genuinely nice guy! Richie Dunne and Robbie Keane were also there but they kept to themselves which suited me find, think they're a bit rough....!!

oh, and I spent a half hour drinking with MGMT on their tab in their dressing room at EP 2 years ago. Next day I drank with sugarhill gang in theirs, and split a beer in florence and the machines dressignroom.

Same here. Was about 8 years ago in Cafe en Seine on Dawson St. Told him about the Aston Villa jerseys with GOD written on the back. He liked that story. He never bought me back a pint, but, it doesn't matter, he's Paul McGrath. A God amongst us mere mortals.

Also, I was offered a drink and afters on a smoke by Gaza, over in Middlesborough back in 1996 I think. Gary Pallister was with him. Club was called 'Big Trees', out in middle of nowhere. He had a slapper on each arm and was loving it. Not a man for the drink :p

Oh and slightly off topic, one of the members from Goldie Looking Chain (that Welsh spoof rap band) used the shower in my Belgrove apartment after performing in the UCD Bar a few years ago. Had a few cans with them all afterwards, mad b*stards

Ah who'd make something like that up in fairness!

Another one I thought of, Carl Barat (mildly famous musician) handed my friend his pint glass when he was going on stage at this tiny gig in Wicklow. It had half a pint of Guinness in it.
    Which she drank.

I told Paul McGrath that I always had a soft spot for Villa because he played for them and he was very humble about it.
