getting a guitar valued

    I guess it depends on the guitar and it's type. Is it a vintage instrument? Or would it be a more modern guitar that you just don't know the value of?
    Generally with some good internet searches you can find out how much a guitar is worth, eBay is usually a pretty good indicator if you want to resell. If you have a vintage instrument then you should check price lists from specialist sellers or possibly give them an email with plenty of info and pictures.

    Start off by finding other examples of a similar instrument in a similar condition and check their prices.

    When you have this range of prices, choose one of the lowest prices (not the average or the highest). That, odds are, is the value of your instrument.

    Advertise it for that. If you get no offers, you're still too high. If you do get offers, the highest offer you get is the true market value.

    That's how I'd do it, anyway...

    Also, let´s all remember that old does not necessarily imply valuable!

    And what may seem old, like a 1985 Strat, for example, may not be old at all...
