    Good work ponddigger,

Take no heed from brendankelly. He pretends to know it all when he really is just a plasterer. He is not a bricky or an engineer or anything else for that matter.

He joins up threads and abuses people. I have been in 2 threads where mods have banned him. He has nothing good to say about anyone and really just joins them to troll. Dont feed it, the best thing to do here is completely blank him and all his posts.

He would like to think that he knows it all to boost his ego. NO-ONE knows it all, if your not still learning then your brain is dead. Once he is proved wrong---as so often he is, you will get no apology, he will just stop posting in that thread and move on and pretend to know it all somewhere else.

A Forum is a place to learn and share skills and opinions. Unfortunately some people turn into thread NAZIs and ruin it for others. Brendan kellys videos and info is all very badly explained and about lime hemp plaster. Just remember if you want info about plastering ye, he might no. For everything else ask someone who isnt a no all and get some good input.

Best of luck while learning your new skill mate. :)

I call it as I see it mate and that wall is worth 100e + a sq meter. It looks nice, It has holes that will become habitats where as the block wall faced with stone can only be seen (by the owner) when he is coming home tired and hungry. When he is home he is looking out at an ugly block wall with the wife nagging him to get it plastered.

I would suggest you try NHL 5 instead of cement and see what you think of it???.

I am disappointed to hear that because I actually thought that it was one of the few walls that complied with planning permission guidelines.

The reason stone walls are stipulated in Planning Permission is because An Taisce were complaining about all the habitats been lost so as a compromise it was agreed that stone walls should be built to replace the lost habitats. The bright side is that if ever the Co Councils decide to enforce planning regulations over 90% of the walls will have to be knocked and there will be plenty of work.
