If you are unsure what a lunar eclipse is, it is when the Earth is directly between the sun and the moon and so the moon goes into shadow. But light is deflected around the Earth by it's atmosphere, so instead of the moon being totally blacked out in shadow, it gets a diffuse light via Earth's atmosphere. the colour red is due to impurities in the Earth's atmosphere.

Don't suppose you have a simplified version of that somewhere?:p

If the moon answers him back I am running for the hills.

Tis way too cloudy to see any eclipse and I am finished communing with nature and Mother Earth and the like. Gonna go and tuck me bits in - tis getting chilly. Not going to bother with me corset at this hour, think me nice wincyette nightdress and crimplene dressing gown are the order of the day. (Missing me old fluffy slippers though)

Just drove 5 miles out the road in search of the moon..no moon :(

Far too cloudy to see anything here, couldn't even focus my telescope on Alice's moon.

You are right about it getting chilly too. Looks likely to rain before the morn.

Never mind about the pink fluffies Alice you can wear thos long stripey socks you wore at Woodstock, you know the ones with the seperate toes in them. I am sure they will keep your tootsies toasty. (And there is always Old Goat's gin if you feel a bit of a nip in the air)

Oh Chucken hon driving five miles to see the moon is not quite far enough I understand. My friend Neil Armstrong says it is a little bit further than that. Still I am sure the local wildlife was pleased to see you flying past in that horseless carriage of yours, especially with your domestic walking in front with that lovely red flag.

Pity about the eclipse though eh?

I actually gave the Domestic the night off :D so it was touch and go there for a while. Bluddy peasants using my flight path :p
