desoldering wire

    where can i get this for motherboard desoldering...

    i see it on ebay from china and hong kong but that be 40 year coming !!

    maplins sell it.
    at a push you can use the outer braid on coax cable

    Where are you based? The likes of maplin or radionics would be your best bet. I get a lot of that stuff from dealextreme usually gets here quick.

    What are you trying to desolder?

    whats the coax cable ?

    im In galway ... Is it expensive in them places ?

    coax is the cable from your sat dish or tv antenna. you can use the braid flattened to catch the solder.
    maplins do the braid think its about 8 euro for a roll.
    in galway its down the end of the shop on the left

    Coaxial cable is the sort of cable you use for a tv aerial. Then poster above is suggesting if you have some spare lying around, using the outer braid as a wick which should work.

    A solder sucker might be worth a try too. If you don't need to re-use the old jack you can carefully cut the legs and melt the solder on each one individually & pull it out.
