Mine is but an ordinary white one from Marks and Spencers tonight. :(

You just made me remember my two very straight (and at the time very drunk) friends singing and..er...reenacting this song. Thank you. :D

Ahhhh! That song's stuck in my head now! Nooooo!
In other news, I have Fanta flavoured lipgloss on. Who wants to kiss me? :D

You have me singing it too, but I always end up singing 'Grill full of rashers, I ate 45'....... prefer those lyrics to the original ones!

This doesn't really merit it's own thread so I'll ask here, has anyone who's travelled with their Boyfriend/Girlfriend ever had trouble in hotels getting rooms?

I'm planning on going away with my Boyfriend in September (Currently thinking about Budapest) and just well... paranoid about having trouble somewhere far from home.

I'd say no, having travelled alot and alot of the time with another male (straight) friend we often ended up stuck with just a double bed, when we would of wanted twins, they want your money not your life story!

Also Budapest is a cool city you'll love it... im jealous of your hols and also that you have a boyfriemd to travel with.... im so lonely haha:D

    I've never had trouble travelling, the standard check in has gone something like;

"It appears there's been a mistake in your booking, we have you down as a double, now I'm afraid there's no..."
"Oh god really? Well I suppose there's nothing we can do! :D"

Cue relief on their part, the vast majority of people who would have a problem will assume mistake rather than gay. If you're worried book into an international chain, they'll have regulations in that regard to protect the brand.

Only the usual "erm, did you want a twin?" style questions.

Hungary is fairly liberal (decrim since the 60s) so I doubt you'll have problems - but I would follow wonderfulname's advice of booking with a known chain where the staff have probably even been trained for this eventuality.

yah i agree. never had a problem - just on two occasions. we will not talk about those episodes. i had booked in as a single person and ended up having company. i did not declare - that was my fault.

but yeah have travelled a lot and they don't reallly care as long as the money is paid up.
    enjoy your hols :)

I was cutting wrapping paper and my ipod was under it unbeknownst to me. Not once did I stop to question why the paper was so hard to cut.

NOW MY HEADPHONES ARE IN SEVERAL PIECES!!! ARGHHH!!!:mad::P

Is confused. What market is Ilene Chaiken making programmes for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,943 ✭✭✭wonderfulname

    Elaborate?

Promised myself I wouldn't watch the Real L Word but curiosity got the better of me and now I feel durty and not in a good way. There are images that I will never ever be able to burn off my retinas.

Not sure what the dividing line between soft porn and reality TV is but it makes me really, really uncomfortable. :(

Was the L word not walking that fine line as well? I haven't seen the real L word so I can't comment, I didn't realise she was behind it too.

I don't understand how that woman got from the Fresh Prince to where she is now though...

    ----Tatyana Ali?

The L Word was pretty explicit but, hided stuff and bits (or whatever you want to call them.) The reality show's quite explicit. Something different about a sex scene with two actresses and a sex scene between two real-life (sort of) people and when
they are really intoxicated and there's a third girl outside the bedroom door crying.
I don't know why, but I get really embarressed, as if I just walked in on someone changing and shielded my eyes.

    I can't beleive I watch such trash. :o

The idea that someone would make a TV show out of that doesn't surprise me. That someone would get into such a situation, allow someone film it and then sign off on the footage being aired to an international audience through legitimate channels amazes me.

I want to see this now, not out of any perversion, I just want to know what kind of people do that!

I know! I just keep asking myself why? One or two of the participants last year moaned about being exploited last year, but then signed up again. People are just so fame hungry.

I warn you though, it makes for very cringey watching, aside from the NSFwatching-with-your-mother scenes, there's a lot of sterotypical tokenism.

    "hot and happening" lesbians
I'm cringing already and I haven't even found a decent stream, god I'll never get any work done, I'm so bad for procrastinating!

I survived 5 minutes... they scare me, they're like a bunch of 14 year olds who've been given all the perks of being well off and middle aged with none of the maturity.

I actually quite like the real L word:o Never got into The L Word because it was just so ridiculously boring. Ilene Chaiken doesn't seem to want to target the lesbian community, I don't know who she does want to target but its definitely not us. And she screwed over Autostraddle and I like autostraddle.

I have a date on Friday with someone, first date I'v been on in aaages's. Really fricken nervous about it, but she seems nice enough. Hopefully she won't turn out to be a mad axe murderer:p

Only been on the site for a month, so maybe I'm just lucky, but just keep at it, you will meet someone eventually. Maybe your right about the age thing though, I'm 33 and a lot of girls on the site seem to be my age or older.

Wish me luck for my date everyone......................

Just thought I'd let you all know that the date went very well and we got on great. Bonus points for the fact that I don't think she's mental, or maybe she's just hiding it well lol.

We're meeting up again for date number 2* during the week so YAY!!!:D:D This could be the start of something good..........

All in the toolbelt and pockets. You can fit a lot in a check shirt and cargo pants.

(Disclaimer: All lesbians who fit this stereotype are indescribably awesome)

I've rushed into relationships in the past, and I'm determined not to do it this time! I'm not going to move in with her for at least another month:pac:

I thought the 'moving in' was used in the first date as an ice breaker....?

Did anyone else watch Terry Pratchett's documentary on assisted suicide? I do agree with euthanasia (for people with long-term or terminal illnesses anyway, I'm not so sure about those who are 'weary of life) but it still reduced me to hysterical tears. I haven't been that affected by a piece of tv in a while...
