Rent Allowance queries

HI There,
I was wondering can anyone help me with the following queries? I know I could contact the citizens info centre but I dont want to waste their time and mine if I dont qualify.
Im a single parent working bout 2o hours a week earning bout 260 euro. Im in receipt of one parent family allowance too. Would i be eligable for rent allowance? Im on the housing list about a year. Do I hav to be renting b4 i can apply? Is the waiting list long? Its for renting in west dublin.

well you wouldd defo be intitled if you have been assessed as having a housing need ( put on the council list) and that cancels out the rule for having to be renting for 6 months previous to applying like but i dont know what you situation is with working and getting one parent payment, like have ya toldd them your working? because if you did i doubt they going to give you R A, but if they dont know anything about that you defo are intitled and have been for the last year
