All I remember from accounting is that Dues are a liability and are bad

I just try to avoid them and guess if I have too

Really though, i have no idea, but ive never seen it so hopefully it wont come up!

That's not quite true. A gain due is an asset, while an expense due is a liability. Other way around for prepaid things.

That's for the final accounts though. His teacher said he thinks they will come up in the ledger question. I doubt it though. Here's hoping anyway.

What do you do with Bad Debts?

I have something in my book on it, if you have the book Studies in Business, it's on Page 340.
In the General Journal, you debit the Bad Debts account and Credit the Debtor's (The one who was declared bankrupt) account.
In the General Ledger, you debit the Bad debts account
In the Debtors ledger , you credit the debtor's account and then balance it off.

I have New Studies in Business, the newer version. If anyone has that book, it's on page 332.

So, it gets an account of it's own and goes into the debtors ledger. Easy enough.

I cant believe some of y eare going to tackle the ledger question. I understand it is there every year, but there is a reason for that, it by far and away the hardest question!

It's actually fairly simple once you understand what you're doing and why you're doing it. I always balance mine. The only problem is that it is quite time consuming, but you'll make up that time on the Business Documents question easily.

Not really, it's the same thing every year and all you need to know is the method. I can get it done in about 20 minutes and I actually enjoy doing it, but I'm the weirdo who loves accounts. :pac:

For French, every second year the postcard comes up, and the note for the other years, ie it goes note, postcard, note, postcard etc etc... Note came up last year so id guess it will be a postcard this year.

We were told that possibly a Formal Letter could come up on it's own.... ^Again, thats a big risk to take, but Postcards are definitely easier than notes.

It'd be absolutely outrageous if it came up on it's own, most schools only prepare the informal one!
And isn't there always a choice between one or the other? I'm screwed sideways if there's only a formal one >.>

Me too, but it does say in the curriculum that it *can* come up on its own.... It would be pure cruel, but that's life..

I hate that line, I never remember it:L

Anyone have any science predictions? Not looking forward to the science exam, but I suppose haven't we already done 30% of it? That's reassuring:)

Id also be well and truely fecked if a formal letter came up on its own, so heres hoping it wont! :pac:

Science has a lot of repetition imo, hard to make a prediction, but if you do the last few years of exam questions there is a lot of questions repeated.

Am I the only one who thinks the formal letter is easier?

In a way it's easier because more of it is learning off, but (in my opinion) it's harder to learn off.
Btw am I the only one who says 'l'expression de mes sentiments respecteux' ????

Anyone want to take a stab at any of the English exam, I'm truly s**ting it for that exam through a mixture of a rubbish teacher and just preferring Mathsy subjects anyway.

I've received a dodgy tip off that the people in history question could include a Monk in a medieval or Irish monastery, but I wouldn't put money on it.

I dunno, I don't mind formal letters, such much more going for layout which is easy, I seem to have a slight different end to all of ye.

I feel that a question on the closing or opening of a novel could come up as our teacher said it was likely. Dont count on it though I would prefer to study every possibility IMO.;)

I cant remember any of the ending of Lord of the Flies. I know the opening really well, so hopefully that might come up:)
