    Hello guys,
I'm considering commuting by bike from city centre (d1) to leixlip (liffey park) and would like to get some tips.
What is a nice and safe path to do it?
How long does usually takes? i know this depends on the fitness level
    Any advice welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

From Leixlip, head out of town in the direction of Lucan.
From Leixlip to Lucan you have the bus lane all the way.
I have used it a lot in the past. It is rare that a bus or taxi would be in the lane with you, as there is three lanes on N4 for most of the way.

You can head into Lucan and out the otherside, or if you use the Leixlip bypass. The bypass also has a wide bus lane.

The road surface on the N4 from Leixlip to Liffey Valley is simply fantatsic, a joy to cycle on. I get some of my fastest speeds on the flat on this road.

From Liffey valley I would use the offroad bike lane over the M50 interchange into Palmerstown.

From there into Chapelizod and into town.

I have been commuting from Lucan to City Centre for the last few months. Go in all the way on the N4 and home the same road.

The first one or two times on the road were not the best as i was not used to cycling such large roads (being from cork) but now its very easy and very direct.

15km Lucan - City takes just over 30min as you can belt away on the N4 with very little stops. Good news is its mostly downhill on the way too work and slightly more uphill on the way home.

Make sre to change from the bus lanes out when you are not taking an exit in good time and hold your ground next to the white line. Its a grand cycle once u get used to these 2 or 3 changes.
