I'm looking for some time trial events for training for triathlon. I've found lots of 16km and 40km events but for preparing for a half IM I was looking for a 50mile time trial. I thought there would be some of these but some googling has failed to turn one up.

Does anyone know of a 50mile TT or similar in the next 2 months? I need one that I can enter as an IVCA member but I don't have a cycling grade so I don't think I could take part in any championships.

The IVCA do 2 - 22 August and 4 September this year

Or you could simply do one on your own - the course the vets use is between Enfield and Kinnegad turning at the respective roundabouts - it's about 19km, so you would need to do just over 4 lengths of this course

Thanks Beasty. I knew about the IVCA one but I need one before August as that's when my HIM is on.

Thanks for the info about the course, I'd like to do one in 'race mode' but this might work.

If you're prepared to travel up North I think the Dave Kane TT League does a 50m TT - they did one in early July last year anyway. You may want to check the Cycling Ulster website for contact details

Ahah, nice one Beasty, thanks. I don't mind travel within reason.
