Do you have a specific question you want to ask about the concept of the Trinity?
Yes.... Here are two verses of Bible...
Or The LORD our God is one LORD; or The LORD is our God, the LORD is one; or The LORD is our God, the LORD alone
    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy+6%3A4-5&version=NIV
    ...............
See, Jesus said, "Our God" which put him under the creation of God and authority of God.... in another verse...
Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone
    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark%2010:18&version=NIV
Here jesus used the word "Alone".....Jesus in this verse is clearly giving exclusivity to GOD Almighty when he said "alone....
Please explain concept trinity of Jesus in the light of above verses...
    Thanks:)

Do you have a specific question you want to ask about the concept of the Trinity?
I think the early questions are :
    1. Is the Father God ?
    2. Is the son God ?
    3. Is the Holy Spirit God ?
And the Chat show host seems to be saying:
    1. The father isnt God
    2. The Son isnt God
    3. The Holy Spirit is God
And the caller is puzzled that neither the Father nor the Son arent God and he is asking is that correct ?

OP wants to start a debate on the question of the Trinity. The OP is a Muslim, and as a result finds a video in which someone argues from his point of view. OP posts this in thread rather than being forthright about said views.

I didn't break any rules.... I am just honest to listen answer from Christian friends.... Is it your excuse?..... That you don't have any answers....

No you didn't but you should be honest about where you are coming from. The answer is quite simply this:

Christians believe that God is one. God is comprised of parts, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, themselves being facets of the same God. Christians aren't polytheists.

    Is Jesus God? Yes.
    Is the Father God? Yes.
Is the Holy Spirit God? Yes.

    Is Jesus the Father? No.
Is Jesus the Holy Spirit? No.
    Is the Father Jesus? No.
Is the Father the Holy Spirit? No.
Is the Holy Spirit Jesus? No.
Is the Holy Spirit the Father? No.

    How many Gods? One.
How many Persons of the Holy Trinity? Three.

It is rather disingenuous to post a video of some terribly confused individual and expect us to defend him. Why don't you ask for an explanation of the Trinity instead of trying to sneak your Trojan Horse of an argument in?

The Holy Trinity is God. The Holy Trinity is comprised of three Divine Persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

There are hints of the Trinity in the Old Testament, e.g.,
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." - Gen. 1:26

Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground. - Gen. 18:2

Op, have a read of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_trinity

You should also stop being so dishonest. You'll just be caught out.

If you want a good answer from the roman catholic perspective I would suggest the following link

I shoould say some of the early confusion arose because the Host, mistakenly I think, said the father isnt God and it went on from there.

I find it very hard to believe that this video isn't a parody.

The closest you'll get to finding the Trnity in scripture is in Mark 1 verse 10-12:

"And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness."

So in this scene we have Jesus in the flesh, the Spirit represented as a dove like creature and the Voice of the Father proclaiming that He (Jesus) was His (The Father's) beloved Son. Three distinct persons. Then we have to remember Jesus' prayer in John 17 where He asks His Father to make His chosen ones one, as He and His Father are one.

"And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are." John 17:11

    Then Paul says:

"That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:14

"But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." Romans 8:11

"So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another." Romans 12:5

So, anyone who has faith in God will have His Spirit also, and be thus one with The Father as Jesus and the Spirit are one with The Father.

    Simple really...

Yes that was my reaction too - Google Richard Burnish and you will find several sites which ask the same question you are asking.
Nevertheless, the questions which are raises as a result of the video are fair and valid.

Question, did Jesus exist before God sent him as his only Son ?

    Genesis 1:26 Douay-Rheims Bible
And he said: Let us make man to our image and likeness: and let him have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the whole earth, and every creeping creature that moveth upon the earth.

Looks to me like there was more than one person at the beginning of creation! ;)

    John 10:24-31

"If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly."

Jesus answered them: "I speak to you, and you believe not: the works that I do in the name of my Father, they give testimony of me.
But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep.
My sheep hear my voice: and I know them, and they follow me.
And I give them life everlasting; and they shall not perish for ever, and no man shall pluck them out of my hand. That which my Father hath given me, is greater than all: and no one can snatch them out of the hand of my Father. I and the Father are one." The Jews then took up stones to stone him.

Dozens of supporting text below concerning the trinity from both the Holy Bible and the earliest Christians.

    Yes.

And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

We need St. Patrick. Three persons in one nature - like a shamrock :)

One of the last instructions that Christ gave was to, 'Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'...

It's meant to be understood as three manifestations or natures of the 'One' God op...There is only 'one' God.

'In the beginning was the 'word'..'

....and the 'word' was made flesh..'

The Shamrock explains the Trinity in a beautifully simple way.

I have to make a point here I have made on a previous post in some thread; if Jesus was a God or was God, before he came on earth, then he never really was human and he never really died !

Thanks for comment, but can I try to explain it another way; you know you are a God, you know you are immortal and cannot actually die, then taking on human form, for a very brief period, is not really the same as a human being crucified and dying. I question whether a God being crucified and dying can be compared to a human experience.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,080 ✭✭✭lmaopml

My God, my God, why have you foresaken me...?'

These are the words of a fully 'human' man, with fully human pain and fully human feelings, the word made flesh that chose to set an example, bring good news and understanding, and give faith, hope and love to the world.

Also to fulfill and highlight scripture and it's depth; reflecting psalm 22:1 To bring together scripture even in the darkest hour when nobody cares. An example for the downtrodden.

God 'the word' that existed from the beginning became flesh and lived as flesh and blood too....At any moment he could have turned his back, but 'God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son..' he became flesh to live among us..

He had 'faith' in us, we need to return that in 'faith' too..

Be honest in our search for truth..being honest is very hard, but not insurmountable...
