Hey PTH2009, what type of guitar strings to get is personal preference. I use D'addorios .10's on my Telecaster. They seem to be a good all round string gauge. For brighter sound, .09's should work and .11's give a bassier sound. But again, it's personal preference.

Are you asking whether to get electric or acoustic strings? If so the answer is electric.

Note that the larger gauge may require neck adjustment (although that guitar doesn't have a floating bridge) and will also require more force to hold down and thus be harder to play initially.

Nah, not really, I just added to what you'd already wrote. Personally I find .009s a bit too light and .011s a bit too heavy so .010s would be what I'd go for too.

9's are what come as standar don pretty much all guitars from the factory. I use 9s on some guitars (generally on Gibson scale lengths) and 10s on others (generally fender scale lengths). Elixir are coated to last longer and are great but D'addario XL or Ernie Ball slinys are good too. People have personal tastes after that.
