Any advice on how to reduce electrical noise in my house causing my speakers to pop?

im just got a shiny set of computer speakers, Logitech X-530 5.1 channel. They're very good apart from popping an awful lot.

The fridge and lights and seemingly everything makes them pop. its actually painful to hear after a while.

ive got them running through the same surge protector extension cable that my PC is hooked upto, but it appears to do feck all.

anything i can buy/do to make it better?

is there any kind of plug adapter or anything i can buy?

Am i the only person in the world suffering from popping?

It sounds like the noise might be being picked up by one of the cables connecting it to your pc ? Do you get popping if you just plug in a set of headphones to the PC ? Try connecting the speakers to an MP3 player, do you still get the noise ?

Make sure all the connectors are inserted fully and that you are using the correct sockets on the rear of the computer. Modern PCs auto detect when a plug is inserted into the audio ports thus switching them on. Check the control panel for the audio system and check the MIC input isn't on and full up.
