What is meant when some-one is referred to as "Hard Faced"

Can anyone tell me what is meant by hard faced?

Sharp facial features?
Bitter looking?
Rough looking?
Mean looking?

I have heard many people say this. I asked one guy what exactly he meant his response was. "Skanger girls with high cheekbones and they look inbred"

LOL someone put me out of my misery, If you refer to someone being hard-faced what do you mean by it?

When people use it they normally put in an extra word ie

"Oh your one next door that old hard faced C*^T, ignore her"

So I will assume it is normally meant in a negative tone, in any event

If I call someone hardfaced, I really mean that they'd kick puppies! Someone who little or no compassion, someone who is basically hasn't an ounce of caring for anyone but themselves... I supposed I mean someone who is emotionally unmovable!

The OP made me think of the phrase Hard Chaw - a Duiblin phrase used to describe somebody tough or aggressive. Haven't heard it for yeats.

Hard faced always makes me think of soembody brazen or without shame for some reason.
