    How to send Anonymous Flash SMS
    Yep, just like Nokia and Samsung phones, you can also send Flash SMS from your iPhone and can play funny pranks on your friends. For those who don't know, Flash Messages are not stored in a phone's inbox but is displayed directly on the screen instead. But theres a catch, other cellphone OSes including Symbian, Android and Java lets you view the cell number of sending party but iOS has a bug which keeps the sender anonymous



    Steps to Send Anonymous Flash SMS From a Jailbroken iPhone:
    Open Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone and add the following repo:

    Search and install iPhoneDelivery app.



    Once installed, go to Settings -> Messages and set Delivery report to Flash. Also turn Character Count ON.



    Go to Messages app and create a new message. Type your message with an exclamation mark ! to start and send it to any iPhone user you want



    This is how a Flash message will appear on the receiving iPhone.



    WARNING: You can send a Flash message of a max of 160 characters only. Sending a message with more than 160 characters will be received as a normal text message.



    I've been having alot of fun with this lately, this is the flash message I've been sending my friends....

    !(my friends name), you have breached Apples terms of service by Jailbreaking your iPhone, Your phone service will be deactivated within 48 hours
    -Apple



    As soon as they receive it I get a text from them freaking out, asking me what they should do

    I tried this but I saw no "flash" option when in setting-messages tab?

    There are any number of online web based services that let you send anonymous sms messages.

    but won't they show up in the inbox with "from field" such as the website name, and a lot will have the web address at the end.

    It's the flash part that makes people think its legit

    Read it again. Do you have delivery reports set up? The delivery report method should be flash.

    If you select full screen report in delivery report then when you go back it says flash

    Cool got it working! Just would lime to know, I'm on free any network text with VF. will these flash SMS texts cost money or are they still free?

    It's just like a normal text, so it will come out if your bundled text package. The text you send stays in your messages as a sent message but doesn't enter the recepients inbox.

    It's very funny.
    I have a friend who bought an iPhone recently on adverts and I sent him one if these saying the phone had been reported as stolen and apple have sent all data from location services to the police.

    Another one I sent was saying apple have changed their t&c and ugly people are no linger allowed to carry an iPhone, please dispose of the phone or have a face transplant.

    Very funny my mate is on the way up to me. He is just after getting a text of apple :) about his jail broken iphone. He is bricking it. I will have loads more fun with this before the night is out.

    Tell him his iPhone will be de activated at midnight!!!

    A work collegue of mine restored ANC updated her jailbroken iPhone. Oops!!

    I sent another to a friend saying:
    "Mr Brady, Apple are obliged to inform you that we gave passed location data gathered from your iPhone, to assist the police in an investigation.
