I'm working to a deadline of tomorrow evening. What can I do to stay awake and/or re-energise? (No self-pollution jokes please :) )

    Apparently listening to music helps.

    Caffeine of course.

I lucky fecker ya! I take sleeping tablets to get a few hours sleep, and they don't usually work too well anymore!
To stay awake though, coffee, coffee and more coffee. I'd stay away from that RedBull ****e.

I eat those sugar stick things. I normally have a stock of them for when I have an essay or exam.

Constantly drink water/some form of drink.. It'll keep you peeing/awake.

However if you DO fall asleep, it could be disastrous

    I did that wrong didn't I?

No that's fine. I blast myself with piss when I find myself nodding off too.

take a 30 minute sleep. it will refresh you more than the bs coffee comments.

Not really, once or twice maybe. I usually just do it wherever I am, be it in bed, in the kitchen, on the bus etc.

Think about all the starving children in Africa.

    or

Start a thread on AH late at night asking about how to stay up all night, and stay up all night waiting for replies!
Go on, give it a try :)

To stay awake, you could always start farting uncontrolably. Very unlikely you'll sleep while at that.

Yeah, i discovered that just a few minutes ago. Very disappointing. I preferred the mystery that was there before they just slapped a letter over this mathematical black hole.

A power nap is a good idea. A few cups of coffee will help too, but if you drink too much, you might start to get migraine and twitchy muscles around your eyes, and come tomorrow you might not remember the work you are doing.

Trouble is 30 minutes can easily sneak into 8hrs.

Red bull + tangfastics. Sorted me out for many all-nighter assignments.

Failing that, buckfast will keep you awake forever, but Im not promising anything about the quality of your work. Inspired genius from some, endless ****e from others :D

Cup of coffee followed by a 30 min sleep. By the time you wake, the caffeine will be kicking in and you're good to go.

Caffeine and light excercise every 15 minutes. 10 star jumps or pushups or something. If you're a fat fucker, walk up and down the room, no point giving yourself a heart attack.

Whenever I had to cram the night before an exam Id take a pint glass fill it 2/3 with coke and add 2 big spoones of coffee. I usually kept me bouncing off the walls till morning. :D

..and slap yourself in the face a few times while standing at the mirror telling yourself what a failure you will be if you dont get your head down! Should work, therapy might be a bit expensive in years to come though.

I don't drink coffee so when I'm on night shifts I keep the temp really cool, take breaks away from the PC and drink cold drinks. Fizzy drinks with sugar are probably a good idea. And eating a few sweets- even a pack of Haribo on the desk beside you should help.

Don't drink coffee, you'll crash and burn hard.

Keep the room you're in cool, and drink loads of orange Juice.
