You can tell shes terribly bored by the fact that she didn't ask any questions about the book :)

    What did Phil say?

No but i would expect her to at least show a wee bit of interest, maybe ask a question or 2, every other head of state visit i have seen clips of (not just in irleland) they are happily smiling and chatting away with the people showing them things, watch Obama's visit and you will see a huge difference!

For some of us it is not 'history'. What is so hard to understand about that?

Ask a history teacher, and watch carefully as their palms close in on their faces.

I'd say the Queen is counting down the hours until she can crash out on the sofa in Farmleigh. She will be looking forward to watching Corrie on the plasma, she probably has had enough of Fair City for one day :D

I understand that, and everyone is entittled to their opinon, this is history in the making as well.

Yep, but there's good history and bad history. And yes they are entitled to their opinion even those ones being dragged off the streets.

I think it's something to do with not letting too much light hit it and destroying it. That's why it's in a specially lit room with the other books.

She is 85 yrs old. Obama visit will be a lot different.

she probably didn't understand a word that was said.

Why cant the cameras see the real book?

Because potential tourists will realise that it isn't that interesting.

We wouldn't be stereotyping again Liam, would we?

Not at all, so please take off the blinkers and engage in the actual discussion.

Some people may have been of the mindset to have a genuinely peaceful protest.

    Others have planted bombs.

The first grouping are entitled to their actions; the second are not.

Because of the second group, the first cannot protest, as it would be impossible to identify who was who.

So no, despite you yet again attempting to imply that I'm stereotyping both groups into one, you're wrong again. The second group are the ones that necessitated the blanket security measures.

In fact, if you looked at it logically, those who would have actually gone out and cheered the Queen of England were also prevented from reacting to today, again because of the second group.

So no, I'm not linking any of the three groups; just pointing out the facts.

Security reason, pity but it had to be done, especially because its Dublin city.

Not really, I could have taken the day off work and lined one of the barriers. So could anybody apart from protesters.

They make it more entertaining though. Otherwise viewer numbers would take a nosedive.

I'm sure theres some reason about the harsh lights needed by tv cameras etc but in reality its probably so they can flog tat to tourists instead of them getting a free picture of the book.

Question for you: If somebody murdered a member of your family or community and you knew that somebody had information about that....would you, after.... lets say, 20 years, just forget about it? Would you feel in the slightest bit aggrieved?
