Hi all. There's a good silver auction on in Dublin tomorrow at 2pm. Quite a number of pieces of Irish silver in it amongst other stuff. I know very little about silver or antiques myself though I do know the people running the auction. Thought you guys might be interested. It's on the web here. http://www.jwa.ie

Ah cool I was in there today and it was packed so I assume there must be some good stuff. I think there is going to be internet bidding so I must find the web address.

I asked the guys and they reckon it's bronze as funnily I was half tempted to buy it myself. However even though it's dated 17 something it might not be original, it might be a 19th century copy.
