    Hi

    Newbie warning ...

So I just got a Cube Aerial (http://www.osmanlee.com/bikes-review/cube-aerial-road-bike-2010/)
When I went to pump up the tyres I see the part where to attach the pump has the standard plastic top that you screw off but then a little inner thing that you twist.

Any idea what kind f pump or connection I should use?

    Thanks
    M

That type of valve is called a presta valve and is generally found on road bikes. You will need a pump that is presta valve-compatible. Road tyres run at high pressure (generally over 100 psi) so you really need a track pump. Getting a tyre up to that pressure without one is a PITA. They look like this and stay at home:

Some of them have double connectors and can also be used on schrader valves (the ones you find on hybrids and MTBs) without an adapter.

If you want to replace tubes/fix punctures on the road, you will also need a presta-compatible hand pump to clip to your frame/bottle cage or carry in your jersey pocket.
