That is absolutely shocking to look at. Like MC or not, that looks dreadful. Like a bad prop from a Transformers movie.

Bike... puke. Im starting to like mc and mtp, but that bike just looks like someone let Lefty go with a pack of crayons. :D

That dress however... I really like. Its subtle different from being 'camo' to work in a very bold way.

Dress? What dress? Oh, now I see it. :D

Absolutely right on the bike. It's hideous, even the UCP Indycar looks far better than it and I'm an MC fanboi

The dress looks photoshopped. Isn't that PennCott?

Gerrout... the Gok Wan of camo fashion ;)

Not sure, it looks like its on there to me, may well be the patern, but i think the print makes it a bit more digital.

Correct on both counts. If only she looked as good as me in it.

The idea of Shane in that dress bothers me slightly more than just a kneepad...

Though i do like the design and camo look on it... pity its not real :P

so how do you photoshop a dress into a picture, seems like alot of effort, and the reflection on the ground and all...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 988 ✭✭✭evilrobotshane

In the original picture the dress is plain red. I expect that makes it easier somehow. Impressive work though, I don't even know where they got that big a sample of the PenCott pattern.

yeah, i first saw the photo in the Pencott website LOL!
It looks like they just photoshop Pencott camo into random photo... :P

That's actually crude as hell as a 'shop job goes. It doesn't take a lot to do it really, I've had to change colours of people clothes or objects in post a few times for various reasons in shots. The difficulty isn't in making the dress look another colour/pattern, it's in making it look like the shot hasn't been retouched at all.
As Shane said, the original photo is just a plain red dress, so that does indeed make it easier to do.

It wouldn't have surprised me if there was a dress like this somewhere though. A friend of mine is a dressmaker and costume designer. She's made some pretty amazing things from UCP and Swedish M95 camo that are more likely to be seen on a catwalk than a field.

    Simples... replace the red?

It does proove the effectiveness of PenCott though. Nobody noticed before that she was smuggling raisins.

Except those of us who had seen the original photo of that great dress before. I mean, you're kidding, right Dex?

PS: I love PenCott - more for the science behind it than the appearance - but as effective as it is, it's pretty garish close up. No matter who's wearing it.

Well we can try it without PenCott too.

Ghillies are usually more effective when they actually cover everything...

There are two things I hate about the photoshopping in those pictures. :D
The original pic in the red dress has some valid points while the photoshopped efforts just cover it all up.

Plus the fact that both were done with about as much care, time and attention as Lefty would pay to Oireachtas Report.

Unless you dedicatedly and intently watch Oireachtas Report every time it's on, that analogy stands. As a whippersnapper, however, my money's on you not giving a hoot.

For anyone who hasn't heard - looks like another injection of beefy profit goodness for Activision this November with Modern Warfare 3 on the way.

Full details due to be announced at E3 next month, but here's the 'leak' (aka - advanced marketing primer):

    http://kotaku.com/5801226/the-modern-warfare-3-files-exclusive-first-details-on-the-biggest-game-of-2011

Also - for those who haven't seen it - check out this little bit of coolness:

Apologies - posted this in the loadout thread by mistake!
