Donncha Cuttriss is the 1st ever Irish solo entrant in the 30 years of the Race Across America (RAAM). An undertaking like this is absolutely enormous, not least from a financial point of view. For this reason there will be a fundraising cycle in Cork City in aid of the attempt.

The cycle will cover a 25km loop, starting and finishing at Collins Barracks. It will start at 2pm on Saturday 14th May. There will be a half way stop at the Elm Tree Bar and Restaurant in Glounthane where refreshments will be provided. At the finish there will be food and half price drinks available in the bar at the barracks. There will also be spot prizes and copies of the RAAM movie "Bicycle Dreams" available for €5.

I myself am crewing for Donncha in America and am well aware of the costs and preparations involved. Over the last weekend he undertook a 36 hour cycle with all the crew. Donncha covered 480 miles over the 36 hours with just two 15 minute sleep breaks. He's in great shape and relishing the opportunity to represent Ireland in the worlds toughest cycling event.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
