Do You Browse Boards.ie on a Mobile Device?

There are some changes in the pipeline to do with the mobile version of Boards.ie so, as the title says, I'm just curious how many of you browse the site on a mobile device.

Personally I'm usually not too far from a computer so I don't browse it all that often but the rest of you might do things differently

I gave up because it sucks on a mobile device

Would be nice to finally get a "proper" mobile version.

If I don't have a computer handy and I "need" to find something on Boards, I'll use my phone. But like Welease said it sucks so normally I wouldn't bother.

No, I browse using a computer.

I spend around an hour and a bit on trains each day so sometimes I use my phone to have a look while traveling. If it was better I'd use it a lot more.

When you say it sucks are you referring to the mobile version of the site or browsing the full version on a mobile device?

I mostly browse on a desire hd, so a full browser on the mobile site. Great for reading threads, replying etc but missing some functionality which I've to jump into 'full' mode for.

What changes are in the pipeline?

I browse on my Iphone occasionally if my laptops too far for me to bother to get, or if my battery dies or something, but always on the full site, I can't stand the mobile site

Takes forever to load and the mobile version is a bit too sparse!
Something in between would be great.
I presume it costs a small fortune to do it right so I can understand the lack of one.

I view on both but for the sake of the poll I said yes.

I like the mobile site but it does seem pretty dated looking... If that sort of thing can.

I view it using a mobile device but with the desktop view. Don't really like the mobile view.

If i'm viewing on my phone i view the full desktop site.

It took me a couple of times to get used to the mobile site - the lack of a margin is odd - but for the sake of my eyesight I now use it all the time.

It does need further work I believe. I don't understand why/how the menu headings were chosen. Needs to be easier to modify to user preferences.

The mobile version would never render properly (or complete loading) on my Nokia.. So I gave up using it about 3-4 months ago.. I did however check this morning, and it now seems to work.. I just browsed (no posting) and it seemed to work much better.
Using the desktop version on mobile was too painful on a low bandwidth (non 3G) connection..

Now that the mobile version seems to work, I will definately give it another try.

Use the mobile site for lurkin sometimes. Have no real complaints with. Basic but what i expect from a mobile site

i use the full version on my galaxy s no probs apart from not been able to type in the search forum box - disappears when the keyboard pops up

used to use the mobile version on a nokia e66 but worst thing was not been able to remove spoilers (no way of selecting text)

You have to press quote and you get to see the spoiler in very, very small text. :rolleyes:

using the mobile site right now. Tend to use it at least 4 or 5 times a day either in bed or between classes in college.

I use the full site on an iPhone daily. Very handy when I'm out and about, but it's sloooow for replying to PMs. There's so much on screen and so many scripts that text lags when trying to type. I usually wait to PM until I'm home.
