Man, I really do hate banger racing. Some many good and rare cars are sacrificed.

:( That's an awful pity! Is 4OU BZO an Irish reg?

    400BZO is a Dublin reg.

It most certainly is the same car.
It was originally Silver and brought to Ireland in '81.

Sadly it was written off in a monumental road accident in 2003.

    Far worse than it looks...

got a few bits off that car im sure, rear driverside bumper corner
remember something about getting T-boned by a Yaris or something???

Or two Yaris's from the looks of it, front and rear damage. I'd still have had a go at fixing it or just keep it for spares rather than see it end up like this.

Im sure what spares that could have been taken were already because there was very little original car left. All that was any use really was the front and rear bumpers and chrome grille perhaps as they looked in good shape. It was on a granada V6 engine and gearbox, and most probably a Transit rear axle as is usual in these big yank bangers. Also looked to have had Granada front suspension. Plus the car was not exactly rust free. And it was already written off before the banger boys got to it..

Like the Rolls Shadow that was there, in all honesty who realistically would go and fix it up? Old rotten Shadows are ten a penny nowadys in England.

The real problem with banger racing is when good cars and rare cars get raced, and stolen to be raced, like the mint MK1 Granada that belonged to the editior of Practical Classics a few years back. That was a true waste.

I cannot think of any redeeming features of that car. The Ital is the product of everything that was wrong with BL at the time, and now it looks worse than the Marina that it replaced. At least the Austin Ambassador had the benefit of being a hatchback over the previous Princess, but it was still a pretty lazy rehash too.

Sorry, a Beauford, this biggest waste of a Sierra ever. Though that one seems to have a longer wheelbase than usual?
