They must keep shifting it about the yard so because it's not so long ago that there was a flat-bed van parked in that spot, and a caravan before it too.

There is another one, in a light blue colour, that's occasionally around the KCR / Kimmage area.

It was at a Banger meet where i took the picture, but it looked to be owned by someone who was looking after it, though if cars had feelings this one would be sweating!:D
Many banger drivers also run classics on the road.

While on the subject of Bangers, i need some id on a few of these American cars from last week in Nutts Corner. I wont post any after pics so as not to upset anyone.
    P4170081.jpg

    P4170064.jpg
This is a Cadillac Fleetwood im thinking, it was shot through with rust and running mostly Granada running gear as far as i could see.

    P4170074.jpg
Is this an Oldsmobile Delta 88?

    P4170073.jpg
Looks to be a Cadillac Seville?

    P4170065.jpg
    Oldsmoble Cutlass?

    P4170089.jpg
    Chevrolet Nova?

    P4170055.jpg
This had 'Caprice Estate' as the badging, so its a Chevrolet also i guess?

These were the other notable machines there including,
Rolls Royce Shadow on a Ford V6 and box, it seemed to be geared all wrong though on the track.
    P4170061.jpg

    P4170095.jpg

MK1 Granada Coupe, this was a waste, it seemed to be pretty rust free. I would bet theres rustier ones in preservation.
    P4170082.jpg

    P4170104.jpg

    P4170105.jpg

    Rover P5 (Ford V6 also)
    P4170075.jpg

    P4170107.jpg

Jaguar XJS, the after shot of this would make baby Jesus cry...

..........it has to be said though, banger racing is a knacker thing. I'd be very suspicious that not all the cars raced there were bought and paid for honestly either.

What ya trying to say Ali!! :D
I would agree, but where i wouldnt say knacker, more a certain type of person. There was some seriously hard looking nuts both driving and attacking the cars between each race. Also as you say, no one quite knows where the cars come from and its pretty much impossible to police.

I hate the whole idea of it, it's like a slaughter house for classics, makes me sad just looking at the photos.:(

Its a touchy subject. I wont post any after shots because of it. Google Shamwreck2011 if anyone wants to see any. Incidentally i think that blue Fleetwood came up from Cork?

    Bang on with your id's.
Your first photo is a '68 Sedan DeVille rather than a Fleetwood (the Fleetwood is pillared).

And heres a pic of her from the old days!
She was an unusual export model that had small differences to the same car sold in America.

Wow, that was quick! You reckon its the very same car Kevin? Any more history on it?

It most certainly is the same car.
It was originally Silver and brought to Ireland in '81.

Sadly it was written off in a monumental road accident in 2003.

    Far worse than it looks...

Was it based in Cork? Im surprised it lasted this long(Since '03) without being raced. Sad end to a once fine car. For the record, heres what it ended up like on Sunday.
