    Hey guys,

I'm looking for a good bike shop which sells hybrid bikes. I'm looking for something not too pricey in the 200~ euro range to cycle to work with. Distance is about 11 miles.

Can anyone recommend me a bike shop which is both eligible for www.biketowork.ie and sells hybrids?

    Thanks!

You are going to struggle with that budget to be honest might have to up the ante .

€200 is not enough for a new hybrid. The entry level for something decent is €350-400. Of course if you buy on the BTW scheme and are a higher rate taxpayer 400 will only cost you 200.

11 miles is quite a lot though if each way- if it is each way I would up the budget further and even consider a road bike.

Also consider other things you might need like lock and lights- if you buy at the same time you get discount on these too (no discount later.)

When I mentioned I was getting a bike on the B2W scheme to the girls in my office they were in absolute shock that I was paying 650 for the bike alone! All of them thought you'd be looking at €100 max!

OP, you have the chance to buy a good bike at a decent discount, take advantage of the situation.

200 quid will buy you a pain in the a55.

This Carrera Subway is probably the cheapest decent bike you can get.

11 miles each way is a fair old distance and as Blorg says, a road bike would be the best option.

200e wont give you a good second hand bike , not to mention brand new. better keep that money, save up another 200 and then start thinking about bike. i bought myself once years ago cheap bike. Dont think it lasted more than two weeks

That 200 shrinks a lot when you add in lights, lock and helmet.

This is a bargain and includes all the extras:

But technically that 200 becomes nearer to 400 with the bike to work saving him 50 percent if he's on the higher rate.

Get a carerra from halfords, they're half price at the moment
