Dublin to Naas via mountains

hey,

I'd head out to tallaght, stay on the N81 past the square. Keep going until you're near Citywest, before citywest their is a left hand turn that will bring you up a pretty good climb towards Brittas, nice quiet road.

From Brittas get back on the N81 for about 500metres then turn left at the golf club, you can follow this into Manor Kilbride. From there I'd do the loop around the lakes and head through valleymount, this will bring you back onto the N81, take a left and continue on for around 1.5km then take the right for ballymoreustace, this will bring you straight into Naas.

Check out google maps if you don't know these villages and you'll see the route I'm on about, most of it is on quiet scenic roads, unfortunately the N81 will have to be done in small parts!!

If you're willing to do it in a very roundabout way, then the ideal route is over the Sally Gap then onto Blessington and up to Naas that way.

Direct route from HC to Naas is actually quite flat.

For a much longer route, continue through Sally Gap to Laragh, then back to Hollywood over the Wicklow Gap and onto Naas via Ballymore Eustace.

Rest / Food stop at the Glendalough Green Cafe as you come into Laragh.

There's quite a bit of hill climbing on this route so you can always turn down at Sally Gap if you want to shorten it.

what time you planning to ride?, i would probably do a cycle 2moro myself nothing to fast and head back to dublin
