    was at mart yesterday weanling heifers serious money.some guys said this could be a reference year for next round of subs.Anyone else hear this.

    that rumour is doing the rounds all right
    Also the auctioneer's would have you believe that payment in future will be based on hectares farmed .
    I think neither is true no one knows

    Who can tell, but the bad old days of the headage meant the marts were full of stringy whiteheads from badly bread cattle just because of the head count. Overstocked land with poor quality suffering animals by half-Ar**ed farmers.

    I hope we aren't going back to those days.

    Was thinking same myself but something is driving cattle prices and it is not the factory prices.Am going to sell all saleable stock asap and hope just a rumour

    So sell now and buy back latter when price falls would be good plan

    if you are worried about this ,only send in maps that match your stock numbers so you maps are full with cattle if you know what i mean,you will have yourself covered that way and you dont have to buy dear cattle.

    so find out what minimum stocking rate needed to claim subs and keep above it
