But it was the funniest thing I've seen on TV for ages!

Looking at that line-up, it's obvious that tonight's episode is going to be a doomfest. I think i'll pass

I saw Paul Sommerville on the TV3 news earlier.. He says he's not happy, that FG are just following FF policy.. He said that he was very disappointed in Noonan's performance, particularly when he said "Anglo wasnt part of the current stress test, because we dont envisage that it will need any more money... HOWEVER, if they do need more money we will have to approach Frankfurt to talk about it"....

Very hard to put any credibility in this being the "final" estimate of the money that will be pumped in to the banks by the taxpayer when he is coming out with ambiguous statements like this..

Yeah, so far they do seem to be FF lite alright.

Where's Vincent getting the 100 billion. Thought it was 70.
    Is he including NAMA?

The banks themselves have borrowed money directly from the ECB and the Irish Central Bank. It's like an overdraft however there is hope that it will be changed to a medium term loan.

'pushed the boat out this time' he says, which suggests they didn't in the past!

Don't think this approach works in real life..

Couldn't agree more. I thought he was terrible at the stress test press conference earlier, not appropriate at all to be laughing answering some of the questions. I think Matthew Elderfield was much more professional.

Prof Honohan, Governor of the Central Bank.

First strong panel since the election. Constantin and Sommerville, and obviously Richard Bruton is the most credible the Govt could send out instead of Noonan. Makes up for no Ministers since election.

Gov Honohan is starting to see like a member of FF. Waffle and more waffle.

A complete bull****er, also known as Patrick Honohan, governor of the central bank and more importantly a prof at TCD.

He hasn't got a clue "I think that we". Who do we look to to get us out of the crap. Even if he was a bit lost on TV (bluffing it) try to be positive, of all days, this day.

    €105,000,000,000

And nobody in prison, most of the bankers still in their cushy offices.

He was still talking sh*te/lying through his teeth, though.

Why isn't Constantin is a position of power? As usual he is one of the few talking sense and has a huge grasp of the entire mess.

I'm going to change disciplines and get a job as a banker. Listening to Bruton the government are completely in denial, they will walk us into the abyss with their eyes closed.

Bruton is sounding a lot like Lenny. we're f*cked.

He actually sounds more gutless. I didn't think it was possible. Will this FG-led government serve out a full five year term?
