First off I know you shouldn't run 2 anti virus software on your computer but I was wondering about running Microsoft Security Essentials and spybot on the same computer??
Will this cause my system to slow down, or can I just disable spy bot at startup and run it when I want to scan the computer.

The reason I'm posting this is because I got some malware the other day and I could only get rid of it by using Spy bot.

Microsoft security essentials and spybot search and destroy is fine to run. Although I prefer to use malwarebytes and periodic manual scans, with MS essentials. What you have will be fine though. One is anti virus software and the other program is anti malware/spyware.
