When will these idiots learn? The correct term is "Black pedeophile bastard". What are the schools doing these days?

Jesus, some of the claptrap here that is spouted as racism. Think people need to get out a bit more. Go to another country or something and experience life as an ethnic minority, or witness it with one. (no, Parnell st doesn't cut it)

Eh, got to ask, look at what is says racism is:
"Racism is a specific form of discrimination and exclusion faced by cultural and ethnic minorities

I would describe it as discrimination based on someone cultural or ethnic background. Although in reality, 99% of racism is directed at ethnic minorities.

I hear racist comments with depressing regularity where I live. One that really irritates the hell out of me is the fact that my incredibly racist brothers-in-law have named their black dog "Nigs", which they find hilarious.

I find that racist. Parnell street is just like any other street.

    Yesterday I heard a 3yo from a "deprived background" calling a black 10yo ni6ger.
Wonder where the 3yo picked that word up?

Notices on bars here in Korea saying "No Foreigners".

In fairness to Koreans the reasoning behind it isn't necessarily racist. They don't want foreigners in the bars because A) most don't speak Korean, B) most don't understand the culture and end up pissing off the Korean customers by trying to talk to the women (Talking to strangers = cultural no no) or C) the bar is a hostess bar where certain unspoken rules apply and the foreigners don't know them or respect them.

So it's racist for non-race reasons. :pac:

Oh and also job advertisements which explicitly state what kind of race/colour/nationality they want or do not want.

was he saying it like 'wassup ma nigga' or was he using a hard r at the end there?

if the former, probably music. white people can't go there though. not in general anyway, those that grew up in the hood can.

anything that starts with "I'm not racist but.."

you're about to hear something that will go in here well.

"I'm not racist but, the government gives the blacks a car and buy them a taxi licence plate and they get twice as much dole ect ect ect"

Get introduced by friends / co-workers / classmates / relatives. It's changing very slowly but basically you don't go out to bars / clubs to meet people. You make a connection beforehand somehow and then go out togeather.

I know racism is found in every country, but it shocked me because we've had different races living here before and I've never heard of anything like this. Have any of you seen crap like this and if you have, did you do anything about it.

Can you clarify which pub it was and what time it happened? Incidents like that are illegal and it should be very easy to verify whether or not they actually occurred. Send me a PM if you don't feel like mentioning it publicly.

Why immediately jump to the racist card?

Perhaps the priest is not a nice guy and had a run in with one or more of them? Maybe they find him completely non-understandable and are expressing their annoyance in an over the top manner by calling him a bastard. Black is just an adjective (and forms easy alliteration in this case) which could just as easily be small, fat, tall, blonde, etc. etc.

Its not so easy to judge whether or not they are racist sentiments unless you know the motive behind the statements. If they are calling him a bastard because he's black/because of his race then fine label them racists. While if they are calling him a bastard because of another reason then "black" is only an identifier.

It's actually pretty funny with it's uber-cheap production values and overdub.. (and you've f-d up the link btw).

Another black kid? They may not know that one black person can call another black person a ni**er, but white people are forbidden from doing so.

Because I met the priest in my local and he was very quiet and mild mannered, as you would be if you were the only stranger in a local pub thousands of miles from home. And because the lads are complete twats.

Common enough in the town I grew up in, a lot of name calling in pubs. Especially in the area of sport, "send that black **** off!", etc. One black fella started working with us and people used to call him all sorts behind his back for a while but it did stop.

I moved to the US and work in a library, had a black woman give out about the fines on her card and she said the only reason she had to pay them was because of the colour of her skin. Numerous incidents all over this small central Illinois town of this sort of carry on, expecting privileges and so on but you can't talk about that of course because you'll be called a racist.
