Drama Classes. Where to start?

    I have no drama backround or experience ,out of pure curiosity I would like to give it a go - but where to start?

    I was thinking of doing a 'Drama for Fun' at the Abbey School.:confused:

    Any advise would be appreciated.

    Can't advise you on the Abbey School but a class like this might be good for easing yourself into it and seeing if it's for you. Alternatively contact the Drama League of Ireland who will be able to put you in contact with groups near you. http://www.dli.ie

    Hi OP don't know where you're based but check out Colaiste Dhulaigh's theatre studies programme. 2 years, full time, FETAC.

    From what I've heard it's a very broad-based approach to theatre, including acting training and technical training. You'll get a very good grounding in all aspects of theatrical practice. There's always a danger that if you go for one route (i.e. just acting) and find out how tough the reality is, you might just give up having gone to big expense and time committments. At least this course will give you a plan B, plan C etc.

    Boards has its own drama group, we're called No Drama Theatre. We operate 2 workshops a week on a drop in basis and your first workshop is free. We hold 2 major productions a year but also stage events at festivals and showcase nights. We also have an improv group.
