    took on a bit of land and there is a house in the middle of it. now im putting a strand of wire around it but a tree from their side has knocked one gap in a wall,there is no fence along anorther side,and the fence along their drive way is all falling down.i know i have responsibility to keep cattle out but is there on them to maintain their fence.you know that gap is very inviting for cattle:

    Its a tricky one. They have a responsibility for maintaining a fence. But you have a responsibility to keep your animals off their property - if they stray on to their property then they can claim for damages from you. You should try to compromise to maintain this fence between both parties which will be of mutual benefit to buth parties. ie. Talk to them and see if they are willing do it or contribute to the cost of you doing it.

    thats what i thought too,just have to wheel out those diplomatic skills.i wouldnt mind but the over flow from their pond is flooding some of the field as well.i think ill have to do a night class in law for this crowd:rolleyes:
