Having been to many high profile darts matches let me tell ya something. Without booze, certain darts matches can be terribly dull. These players need to remember their heritage :D

EDIT: sorry just read the article now...thought you meant a ban in the crowds lol

In my own opinion, I agree with everything Anderson has said. I don't drink myself when I play and I never have for the simple reason that having a pint makes me play an awful lot worse than I usually would. I understand thatd rink can dull the nerves but how something that affects your hand eye co-ordination and your vision can be good for you is beyond me.

The amount of times I have seen players lose in tournaments because they have had too much drunk is unbeleivable. Lads who were great in the early rounds are simply awful by the latter ones because of the drink. I've seen too many players lose their matches on a Monday night because of drink as well. Maybe it's because I practice at home and not in the pub so therefore never really drink but I just don't understand the drinking culture behind the sport.

Having a laugh down the pub with mates is a different story, drink is fine then but when it comes to a serious match I just don't get why players drinkl.

At times I feel like the only player in Dublin not drinking at matches
