    Hello guys

I'm in first year doing finance and economics.

I found out that doing the ecdl is a perequsite.

How true is this e.g if i dont complete it, would it mean that I won't be allowed into 2nd year.

    Thanks.

I was transferring into 2nd year so it might have been different for me but the admissions office wouldn't send out my acceptance forms until I'd posted the ECDL certificate to them.

In saying that I've had the computer centre email me asking for the certificate as well because they need to confirm that I passed the ECDL. My understanding is that the computer centre think I am a 2nd year who hasn't passed the ECDL in 1st year, though whether the economics department are aware of that/actually care, I'm not sure.

So to answer your question, you'll get into 2nd year but they will probably start to hound you and you might not get your degree at the end of 3rd year.

It's piss easy to pass the ECDL btw.

If I get into 2nd year. It's okay. I'll complete it durning the summer.
I've done 1 and 2 and failed 3 and 4 I missed them twice. So thats me out of cash for ecdl.

If they ask any questions tell them you've already passed the first few and that should keep them happy.

There might be cheaper places to do it than NUIM as well. I did mines in the north for half the price so you should look around.

Thanks, it's a weight off my chest for now.
