Any idea on what the cheapest deal in Ireland is?

Xtra-Vision are doing a a rather lame bundle of the console with Rayman/Ridge Racer/Nintendogs + Cats for 280 Euro, while Gamestop will be doing something similar for 10 euro cheaper though they haven't decided what games they will offer. Gamestop are also offering various trade-in deals on your current DS console though none in my opinion are very good.

    I haven't checked anywhere else...

    Why not

    Why not

Probably due to limited 3d content and awkward backwards compatibility with 2d games. The higher rez screen is causing scaling problems.

As in limited 3d games or 3d game content within the games?

Was looking at gamestops site and the games are very cheap for the 3ds on it

    http://www.gamestop.ie/39630_Nintendo_3DS_Ridge_Racer_3DS.aspx
For 32 euro is a great deal if there going to cost that much is store i will pick up 4 games with it i have 370 to spend on it that only cost me 167.50

Also you can get any game with it for 270 euros which is a good deal because you can get any game

If you are buying any electronic online, you'd be better off going with Amazon as their customer care is excellent. The couple of extra quid would be worth it. I don't think any of "the hut" group deliver electronics here anyway.

Nice deal too, 3DS+screen protector+game+case for 20£ extra, or -case for 15£ on top of 196£

Are you sure about that. I ordered an iPad case that is in stock on the 20th of Feb. And was given conformation that it would be dispached the 10th to 15th of march ?????. I e-mailed them around the 4th or 5th of march as to why it was taking almost a month to get the item shipped. Guess what? They haven't even replied yet

i would not go near this console with a barge pole.

People said the same about the DS and the whole idea of it being a supplementary 3rd platform for Nintendo.

See how that ended up :pac:

Zavvi ship from the chanel islands so anything over €22 would be liable for VAT and import duty.

well in gamestop if trade in DSIXL and 2 DS Games you can get the 3Ds for €99.99, trade in DSI and 2 DS Games you can get the 3Ds for €116.99, trade in DS-lite and 2 DS Games you can get the 3Ds for €134.99.

Trade in DSi XL in Smyths and get 3DS for €139.99
Trade in DSi and get 3DS for €174.99

Same basic deal as Gamestop but without trading games, useful if you don't have the games to trade as I'd imagine they are quite recent titles that combined are probably worth more than the €40 price difference (in relation to the XL offer)

Also, even without trade, pre-book it and save a tennor off it, the €10 deposit also means that on the day it'll be €250

EDIT: Full list of games from GameStop attached, most of what's on it is worth at least €20 or more in Smyths so anyone going for this offer be mindful that you don't lose out on credit due!

The Gamestop website also has an offer for the 3DS + any launch title for €269.99. There is also free express delivery as the order is over €150.
It states on their site that express shipments guarantee you receive it on day of release. Not sure if that's true or not.

    Good point.
You can refuse to pay the duty and vat and it gets sent back to zavvi, right?
Or do you still have to pay the duty?
