    this is a quare one. if a stockbull dad had an ebi of 170 but dont know ebi of mother .what would be a guesstimate of his ebi or is it impossible to know with out mothers ebi

    Half the sires ebi anyway, Why don’t you have an EBI figure for dam, if Dam hasn’t a known pedigree is the bull useable/saleable?


    Get him genomically tested.

    i dont know why her history isnt coming up on herd plus might consider dna on him he is an oman grand son and only bought him to do a few carry over cows on an orther block of land but he has thrown sweet looking heifers

    Is the sire of the dam known?. even if she is and your bull comes up with an EBI of say 120, his reliability figure for EBI will only be around 30%.

    The famous Oman parents are interesting. The sire has an EBI of €134, the dam has an EBI of €76. Oman has an EBI of €260.

    Oman now has thousands of daughters so his EBI is based solely on them, nothing with his parents.
