some tackle by carragher. say he is well chuffed with it. 3 point, great win and a chunk of nani.

Did he f*ck, he didn't even touch him, and Lucas should have been carded for his kick in the build up to it.

I also think the commentators made the Nani/St Johns incident sound worse than it was, he punched the ground in frustration, didn't swipe out at them like the commentator suggested.

Two footed lunge is a red card, contact or not

Holy ****, if that picture is real i feel bad for laughing. It was hilarious the way he ran to the ref and then fell down though

I'm sure LuckyLloyd and a few others will be delighted with that.

    Agree with you here.
There should have been 2 red cards IMO today.
Wreckless is wreckless whether you get the player or not.
I think Rafael is a liability for United

110 % agree he always looses the head like in the champions league.

But fair play to him sticking to skirtel after that after any word on nani?

Carragher should been off clear red and it is getting to the stage where your leg needs to be hanging off before a red is giving too little too late.

We were poor at best today having no defense should have revved up Rooney and co to cause trouble in liverpools end but it dindnt happen so we need to regroup and move on chelease won the league last year by getting big wins if we can't do the same we don't deserve to win it.

Doesn't matter. Reckless is reckless. It was two footed, studs showing, off the ground and straight at the player. The ref was lenient on Rafael. Which, btw, I think was the right course of action in the circumstances.

Rafael goes in hard to every challenge, just happened to mistime that one, a yellow at most.

It doesn't matter how often he does it! And there is no way that you can correctly time a two footed, studs up lunge straight at a player.

Quite possible. It was over very quickly and I didn't see a reply.

I think the fact that he got up and ran over to the ref probably saved Carragher the red card.....

Gottta be fake unless Carragher can injure with scalpel like right angles.

That's the problem when you consistently act out when tackled......
When you are genuinely injured nobody takes any notice!
    It's unfortunate

Edit: Probably should say that this is not solely directed at Nani but goes for all those players who make theatrics out of tackles....

    Not sure about that.
I think Dowd already had the yellow in his hand.
    I could be wrong though.

    Sour grapes from Fergie again

Ah come off it, you don't seriously think its because of the match to you, Fergies not speaking because any time he does he gets in bother even if he is just being honest.

Agreed, there's no way Carragher would only have been booked if it was that visible and obvious when he was lying there.

Also there was none of the usual players looking distraught when an injury is extremely bad a la that picture.

You have to laugh at all the precious little United fans clambering up the moral high ground. It was a bad tackle that should have been a red. No need for the moral outrage. Especially from supporters of a club like United, who haven't a shred of dignity anywhere.

    That's horrendous.

As I said earlier it was a bizarre incident, but he's not the first player to suffer a bad injury and have a late reaction. Granted the way he went down looked fairly theatrical at the time, but looking at that I don't see how he can be vilified. Maybe it was adreneline that got him to his feet before he succumbed to it, who knows? Horrible.

If that is real it doesn't change the fact that Nani acted like a tool. He ran over to the ref to fall down in front of him. That makes him a play acting wimp. He may have found out that he had a proper injury afterwards or that picture may be fake.

Knees and elbows cause similar cuts if you ever watch Muay Thai or MMA.

Most people would be pretty happy with Carragher's haul to date, in fairness!

You can say the same about Carragher. You'd be wrong about the two of them though.
