    Basically they distribute Fitzgeralds votes first as it's enough to elect people if it went the right way. If after that, the difference between the last 2 electable people (Donnelly and Brady) is less than Doyles surplus, they'll distribute Doyle's as it has the potential to change the result if they went entirely in one direction.

    so in other words its just a formality to distrubute those votes unless they all go to one person, or is tiredness getting to me and my brain has given up?

    I think they have to Look at all of Doyles 10035 First Pref .. Votes --and see what the Next or next or next Pref is --is that Correct ???
