Roche isn't going out gracefully - he's a complete twit, even his running mate said he should just let it go.

He sounds like the two Duke brothers at the end of Trading places!

    "This is an outrage,
    I demand an investigation.

You can't sell our seats. A Duke has been
on this exchange since it was founded.

We founded this exchange. It's ours.

    It belongs to us."

He would; he's ahead by 3 votes. :pac:

Seeking Legal advice =/= taking legal action.

I hated Dick Roche before it was cool, but you guys are getting silly.

    Who tweeted it, the RO?
    No?

How bout a media source that is required to check its sources before announcements?

    As everyone is retweeting :D:D
Historic day for Dick Roche - Only FF'er to be eliminated twice in this election... Priceless.

    RTE
Wicklow: Fianna Fáil's Dick Roche has been eliminated following a recheck of ballots in Wicklow this evening.
Returning Officer Patricia Casy said there would be a readjustment in the number of spolied votes which will be announced with the results of the 14th count when Dick Roche's votes have been distributed.
It's expected this may slightly alter the quota.
The rechecking of ballots started this morning at the request of Dick Roche after he was eliminated in the 13th count. He sought a full recount as he was just 3 votes behind his running mate, Pat Fitzgerald.

Roche canvassed on my road last week - in 'person'. I watched him and his goons stalking around from house to house. I was delighted when the door bell rang and it was the 'man' himself. He started talking and I interrupted him, I told him he wouldn't have my vote, that I have never voted for Fianna Fail on principle. I then asked him if I needed to explain what a principle was. He muttered something about having studied English and I bid him a cheery farewell. Not as cheery as the farewell I am bidding him now.

Ok does today's events count as a full recount or just a recheck of spoiled votes?

Can Roche now demand a full recount from scratch, and if so must it then be done or can the returning officer deem the request groundless and refuse it?

It was a recheck. There is a recount underway I think.
There may still be another recount.
Roche was not the only one who was unhappy with the process.

Roche hasn't ruled out a recount.

    Confusing as hell.

That was a recheck of count 13 and count 14 is underway.

And we have not seen the last recount/recheck.
I don't see what Dick can do, but there will be more counting before seat 5 is done.

If he does demand and get a recount, you can only imagine the cheering when he's eventually eliminated:D:D:D

Roche hasn't ruled out a recount.

recount all he likes. Smell the coffee C.Roach. Your disgusting party wiped out and he thinks a recount will get him in, just vexatious that is all a sore egotistical loser. Go out and get a real job if you can find one for a has been.

IT reporting that he's gone now.

His elimination was greeted by applause at the count centre in Greystones tonight.

    And rightly so.

this guy just cant take a hint. according to @RTE_Elections his only other option is to mount a legal challenge. this could go on for years knowing our courts.

Even if he did recourse to legal action and won all that would happen IMO is a bye election and he would have no chance the conceited buffoon.

Twitter isn't the greatest source in the world, but having followed the #wk tag all weekend, you get to know who's reliable.
