    Hi,

I have an Onkyo 5.1 set HTs3305 and need to move the sub to other side of room and need a longer cable.

Not sure what type of cable it is - RCA or Dig coaxial cable.
The cable there is only 1m odd and has a yellow end at both ends.

The new cable will be 5m long.
Not sure why it would be a dig-coaxial - but just checking.

    No info in manual either.

just a reply to my own thread -

doesn't seem to be any advantage in dig co-axial.
Especially for a sub - might be a different story if for a front speaker with a good distance from the amp but not for a sub.

A sub cable is essentially an RCA cable , but usually with extra shielding , try the RCA , if it works then fine , but subs are very very prone to picking up mains hum on badly shielded cables.

IF you get this you will know , as the sub will literally hum constantly while powered on.

    Hi
Try with this one , http://www.qed.co.uk/203/gb/product/profile/subwoofer.htm
I think you will not find any better around that price and construction.
I heard this cable on Yamaha and Mordaunt Short sub 909i. NO HUM!

    thanks folks,

so basically, I should get a half decent RCA cable - 5m needed - instead of a euro5 off ebay

    will search so

    thanks

its install it doesn't matter about the price, cheap as possible, copper is copper so long as its a shielded cable.
