hi guys, i've just started using rail to commute to work, fuel prices have forced me off the road, and i just have a quick question, I get the train into Connolly and have to wait for a connection to Pearse on the Dart, does every southbound dart travel through and stop at Pearse street? I am often left sitting on one platform waiting 15 mins for the scheduled dart after my train arrives but on the other platforms there would be at least 3 maybe 4 that stop off in that time, it would be so much handier if i could just jump on any one of them rather than sitting around like a tool. But i want to be sure before i hop on one and end up in greystones or something :)
    Any help would be appreciated.

yes all darts will stop in Pearse, some Rosslare/Gorey Commuter trains will also stop there and some (most) trains from Maynooth will also continue on to Pearse. Where are you coming in from?

your best bet is to wait and see on platform 4 which platform the next train southbound will be on. there are displays there that show what trains are arriving on platforms 5-7.

Ah thats cool, i'm coming in from Dundalk, but only the odd one goes directly to pearse, should make my life a little handier now, cheers, i'm slowly unravelling the mysteries and secrets of the daily commute :)

every train southbound from Connolly stops at Pearse (there used to be some Rosslare services that ran non-stop from Connolly to Bray, but not any more).

Allot of the time you would be quicker actually walking from Connolly to Pearse than waiting for the next southbound train. The dwell times at Connolly and Tara street are shocking at times and the speed they crawl at even in peak hours is horrendous. Usually due to shunting movements at Pearse and or Grand Canal Dock.

The display will always say what stations the train is stopping at. Usually always says all stations, and if it isn't all stations it will name each station it's stopping at. As a rule of thumb, all DARTs stop at pearse(unless pearse station has something wrong with it or there's some sort of strange circumstance which you'd be well informed of beforehand).
