Problem with finding a descent bar

Does anybody know of more sophisticated bars around the City Centre? I have a rather curious problem with frequenting some of the drinking dens that pass themselves off as bars and I am disgusted by the commoner element in these establishments. I have always considered myself to be a refined and intellectual sort, and I cannot stand to be around some of these people and their ways, whether it's there "awright whats the story" accent, or discussing football and porn.

It's just so hard to find a bar where there is a peaceful atmosphere and where one may find a better breed of people. Where can I find a pub with an intellectual and refined atmosphere, and where one can find foods ranging from continental to oriental cuisine, as opposed to chips and burgers, or chips and god knows what else. I am getting most fed up and rather tired of going to pubs where the drinkers are mostly of a commoner Northside type. Yuck,

There's a private members club somewhere around St Stephen's Green. It costs a pretty penny to become a member. I do feel your pain though.

To be honest, i reckon any pub or bar you go to is going to have at least one massive wanker in it.
