Improvement in industry job prospects?

I'm a trainee with about 1.5 years under my belt in practice. I've had a couple of unprompted emails from recruiters in the last few days looking for an updated CV. saying that they have companies looking for staff. Is this just the recruiters updating their database or has anyone noticed a bit of an upturn in the profession?

I'm just curious, I'm happy where I am, but it's nice to have options!

I have 3 years exp in practice and looking to make the move to industry.
Have had a few calls from recruiters but nothing promising. I would be curious like you but not too confident that things are moving again:confused:

All I can say to you is that things are improving in certain industries, i.e. Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, IT etc.

If I was considering a move, I would be asking myself two questions, a) what sector of industry am I moving too and how strong is that sector currently and b) perhaps most importantly is the company operating in the international economy or the Irish economy. If the international economy, then regardless of the position of the Irish economy, then the company has a good chance of performing well as long as the international economy continues to grow - there is really no need to comment on the Irish economy.

Finally, never trust a recruitment agent - if you move, be selective about the company you move to - do your research - contact people who work for the company on Linkedin etc and see what the story is from the inside.

If you have a secure job, don't move blindly for the sake of a couple of grand!
