I'm thinking about purchasing an Axe-Fx Ultra but I want to try one out first. Do any of you guys have one and would it be ok if I got a demo of it?? 2000 euro is a lot to spend on equipment without trying it so you would be doing me a huge favor. I'll buy you lunch:D Thanks!

digitech gsp 1101 is a lot cheaper and a very good alternative , in case you finally think OMG AXEFX is too much money

Also, do try a the new POD HD500 (others in the range are toys by comparison). I tried the Axe FX in Germany and have to say I wasn't that blown away by it (considering the whopper price).

I did hear a huge improvement over what my old Pod X3 could do but I don't really hear it over the HD500. Axe FX does have millions of mental options and as techie as I am at designing sounds I thought there was a bit too much control.

Great fun if you are planning life as a hermit for a few months!

I've had my Ultra for a couple years. Fantastic piece of kit.

I take it you're the guy who was asking on the Fractal forum.

You can tweak for months at a time, but there are some seriously good guys that share patches and I tend to base mine on theirs and just tweak for my preference and gear.
