wouldnt think so, from reading journal, farm exam and indo itl be on milk bulk tanks 40% up to 25000 (grant 10k) and milking equipment - not buildings 40% up to 40000 (grant 16k). will bee very very hard to get too id be thinking, be based on a marking scheme and not so much 1st in 1st served.

how much approx was the heat time again whelan?

    Looks a handy system

Any ideas on price per cow?

Also can anybody using it verify how good/accurate it is in their experience?

i have it in over 2 years , wouldn't be without it now... cost me 22k:eek: that is 100 collars at 100 euro each... i also got the drafting gate which afair was €8000 then the readers and unit ... was alot of money at the time but is well worth it... brilliant for picking up silent heats .

You could buy a paint factory for that:D

How does it differentiate cows in heat and coming into heat? Cow activity increased a day or two before standing heat. Have your conception rates improved? Have your semen cost gone up alot

yes i am getting alot more cows in heat that i other wise would have had to get vet to handle ... it reads the cows as they come out of the parlour and drafts out any cows with low activity - could be sick etc and those in heat , it picks them out 6 hours after the start of the raised activity , but you can set it other ways , it can keep picking her out until her activity drops or you can block her from being picked out again. I use it for picking out cows for scanning , foot pairing too
