Rewiring a mates tele but forgot to get the above cap, but I have the tone one. Can I get by without it? And if not where could I get one quickly? Midlands pref?

.0001 caps are used as a treble bleed caps. They are used to prevent the overall tone from going muddy when the volume is turned down..

My advice is finish the wiring without the cap, if you think the tone can be improved then order the part (probably ebay is best) and solder it in.

Yeah pretty much they are just DC blocks, most of the older Tele's never had them, you can always add it later if you like. But damonjewel is right you may never actually need it
