I thought Rabbitte was accurate in his comments as well. I didn't see it as sexist. The dogs in the street know Fianna Fail have been involved in more stunts the last few weeks than a Jackie Chan movie.

I'm half expecting Micheál Martin to come out and say there's a little crippled boy in the hospital rooting for a Fianna Fail election win.

There's a 50/50 divide of men to women in the country, why don't they just form their own party and then have a 100% quota of women if they want and this should appeal to 50% of the pupulation.

This political correctness BS is wrecking my head lately, next demands will be women pilots wanting baby changing facilities in the cockpits of planes.

You're just not getting it are you!In somecases women of merit aren't being put forward simply becuase they are women. A quota would prevent that from happening. Who gets elected is still up to the public.

I'm astonished at the number of peole clammering for abolishion of the seanad, siteing scandanavia as a model of successful one house parlimentary systems, yet theses systems have quotas.

susan was only asking for quotas for candidates put forward, not on members of the dail.
