Holes in cladding

    just wondering if anyone can help me on this one.

    I put up a shed last year - 45 foot by 15 with holds 4 calving pens.

    I got the cladding for it 'handy' off a neighbour - it is the old industrial stuff and it is serious quality.

    The down side is that there are a good few holes in it and as I used the steel Z purlins, I couldn't use felt under it as I had nothing to nail it to.

    I tried filling the holes with sealant but it doesn't seem to be stopping the full probllem and the drops can be heavy on young calves.

    Is there anyway I could get something to stick felt to the outside of the cladding - that could stand both sun and frost. :confused::confused::confused:

    you could use stitchers (Tex screw)

    do you mean use the tex screws to hold on the felt on the outside of the cladding:confused::confused::confused:

    nail hole size. Tex screws might do the job.

    Are you sure its not condensation thats causing the dropdown? We've had damn-all rain since early January.

    get a tin of waterstop from a hardware. just paint it on. brilliant stuff

    check is the wet patches under the Z purlins, I have them in one shed and the condensation drips under them is unreal.

    If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

    Have you tried using the tec 7 silicone. Its serious stuff. It would be a great job for sealing up nail holes and would be everlasting. It will harden in any weather conditions - it will even set under water. Ordinary silicone is junk compared to it.
